GW Drupal Update: Webform fields can now be encrypted

August 09, 2013

The Webform content type has been updated to allow individual form fields to be encrypted.

Encrypted fields are encrypted in the Drupal database and are not sent in any automated emails that may be associated with the form. The data may still be viewed in Drupal or downloaded by a Site Administrator.

Recommend for:

  • GWid numbers
  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that you may not want to send via email

How to implement:

When editing a form field, look for the "Encrypt this field's value" checkbox. Check this box to encrypt the field. That's it!

Remember:

Never use GW Drupal forms to collect Social Security Numbers or online payment information.
